Steamed Buns

This is more of a "stand" than a restaurant but it is one of my favorite places to stop and grab a snack when I am walking around down in New City. It is a little place called Hometown Wangmandu that sits on the street parallel to the train station. It is on the same side of the street as Rice Story. There are several steamed bun vendors down in New City, and I have tried them all, and these are for certain THE BEST steamed buns in New City!

This is how they look in the huge steam trays, you have a choice of Pork, Kimchi and Red bean. I prefer the pork ones, but if you like Kimchi then you would probably like the Kimchi ones. They are 1000krw each and well worth it!
This is the little package they put them in, 1 per bag, yes they are that big.

The bun itself and what is on the inside..It has pork, rice noodles and some veggies. Beyond amazing and tasty.

We usually buy them by the bagful, anywhere from 8-10 because me and the kids all love them. They are very easy to reheat, simply wet a paper towel, wrap the bun in it and warm in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds, long enough to warm it but not make it hot. They are much better fresh, but in a pinch when you can't just run to New City for a bun, it works.
